Houston's Dirt Bar is located downtown directly across the street from House of Blues and next to Reserve 101.
Hours: 6pm-2am "EVERYday, even Xmas!"
Dirt Bar opened in 2005 in a leaky building off I-10 in The Heights. It was a low, dark room with a circular bar run by brothers Steve and Shaun Sharma.
In a city overrun with clubs playing Top 40 and Hip-hop, The Dirt became a refuge for those who were drawn to rock and metal music. An eclectic crowd settled in.
In 2009, The Dirt was moved to an industrial, high-ceilinged space across from popular rock venue House of Blues, making it ideally located for pre- and post-concert meetups, as well as a space frequented by the musicians who perform at HOB and the nearby Toyota Center. Members of Muse, Kings of Leon, Deftones, Avenged Sevenfold, Marilyn Manson, Foo Fighters, In Flames, Audioslave, Silversun Pickups, Against Me, The Casualties and Lady Gaga herself have been known to dip in to drink with the regulars after their Houston shows.
The bar remains simple, dark and throbbing with rock-and-roll and metal music.
Not for dancing. Not for darts, pool, or giant games of Connect 4.
The Dirt is about people, music and drinking. If you can't stand those things, it may not suit you.
If you can stand those things, come by, and come as you are. There is no dress code (but please do keep your pants on).*
